With all the rushing around for Christmas, I forgot to upload November’s theme - PINK!

In four months we went from continent to continent, and now colour to colour. It was fun to explore ideas that fit a vibe of decadent, fun, feminine and sweet. Looking at the 18th century, I was spoiled for choice when it came to inspiration, it was THE popular colour: Pink fashion, bold makeup, cakes, furniture, homes, porcelain, even men and women alike were dying their hair pink or wearing pink wigs. Plus I already knew I wanted something involving a Lesser flamingo (my favourite species), becoming a cheeky pet. 

I ended up with so many ideas for pink that I was hoping to do more than one piece; but I ran out of time for one, and another ended-up with muddy colours, so I had to scrap them both. I, however, did manage to do this side piece of a simplistic, line-less nude and try-out a new style. Even if it’s didn’t quite turn out as I’d hoped. But what matters most is that the main piece turned out better than expected. Not to mention everyone else’s pieces were incredible! Pink is such a pleasing colour to work with. I wonder if the colour-based prompts are starting to become my favourites.

Shortly before the pandemic, I started getting back into crochet, and when I saw Red Heart's crochet flamingo kit, I couldn't help myself. Masamingo uses the kit's pattern (free download here), but made double size, with some additions to better approximate Vy's design. For instance, I did two layers of wings to give the impression of bigger, fuller wings (and add the black feathers) , and I'm almost 100% sure the white face was a separate piece I sewed onto the pink base. Kiwi Goto...I just kind of figured out as I went. (He's all simple shapes and pipe cleaner, but I am still proud the hat worked.)

Instead of being a responsible adult I decided to play with dolls last night, and made my angel/demon OCs flirt with each other in Heroforge. No regrets.

TODAY I DIED AND WENT TO AUTISTIC WRITER HEAVEN!!!!!! went to a hydrotherapy pool for work like wow this would be so cool if i had a character who loved swimming and was really good at it and also benefitted from hydrotherapy as treatment for his chronic illness and also has done work as a lifeguard and swim lessons all culminating to swimming and swimming pools as a major part of his story both on a character level but also a thematic level because his story deals with ideas of the body + being aware of your body in relation to the world (think about the sensation of body surrounded by water reinforcing that you have a live body) combined with sickness and ideas of “cleanliness” can a body be clean does a body need to be cleansed? wouldn’t that be so cool if i had a character like that WELL I DO!!! HIS NAME IS BOBBY HIS NOVELLA IS LITERALLY CALLED CHLORINE AND BROTHER I BREATHED IN THE CHLORINE
